How do I set up an account?

It’s easy! To create an account:

  • Visit Chirp.tel
  • Choose your plan
  • Create your RedPocket.com Chirp login
  • Complete the quick sign-up form, including the zip code for your desired area code
How do I use my account?

After you have finished your new account setup at Chirp.tel, simply download the Chirp app through either the Google Play Store or App Store. Then login using your new Chirp mobile number and passcode. Your Chirp mobile number and passcode will be sent via text message to the alternate number and emailed to the address you provide at sign-up.

Dial as you usually would, and enjoy the service!

How do I update/edit account information?

Plans

Can I use this app to make calls while in the U.S. to U.S. destinations?

Yes! Both the Domestic and International Chirp plans include unlimited calls to U.S. destinations, and not just from the within the US, but anywhere!

How does the International Calling plan work?

The International plan offers unlimited calling to over 100 destinations, with most including calls to both landline and cellular numbers. Please check here for details. Remember, Unlimited does not mean unreasonable use that could impact other users’ access to the service. View our complete terms of service at Chirp.tel/termsandconditions.

How can I verify whether a number I regularly call is part of the Unlimited plan?

To confirm if a non-U.S. number you frequently call is covered under the International plan, check here.

Payments

How do I refill my account?

Visit RedPocket.com/refill and sign into the online account you created at sign-up or refill using Guest Checkout by entering your Chirp mobile number.

Can I see a history of my payments?

Yes. Within your online account at RedPocket.com, click on “Payment History” to view your past payments.

What is auto-refill?

With auto-refill, you don't have to worry about entering your credit card information every 30 days and can avoid gaps in service. We’ll use your credit card on file to keep you up and running.

How can I enroll in auto-refill?

Enrollment in auto-refill is quick and easy. Within your online account at RedPocket.com and click “Refill Plan Now”. On the next page it will default to the Auto-Refill tab. Simply review the information and click “Continue”.

Calling

How do I make my first call?

After you downloaded the Chirp app, login using your Chirp mobile number and passcode that were sent via text message to the alternate number and emailed to the address you provided at sign-up.

Once you agree to the terms and conditions, you will be taken to the dial pad. To dial internationally, please enter 011 (or +) followed by the country code and number you wish to call.

Can I make calls to both cell phones and landlines?

Yes, you can call both landlines and cell phones in the US on both the Domestic and International plans. With the International plan you can call both landlines and cellphones at up to 70 destinations.

How do I view my calling details?

In the Chirp app, tap on History at the bottom of the screen. You can filter the list by “All”, “Missed” and “Recorded” calls.

What happens if I don’t have Auto-Refill enabled and I let my 30-day plan expire?

You will be unable to complete calls until you apply a payment at RedPocket.com

The party I am calling says I’m hard to hear. Is there anything I can do?

Yes, in the calling app dial pad, click gear/settings icon in the upper right of your screen. Under preferences, select Sound and then move the slider under microphone volume boost to the right.

Can I call back to the U.S. from another country with this app?

Yes! With both the Domestic and International plan you can use this app anywhere to call the U.S., as long as your phone has a data connection (Wi-Fi or cellular). Calling with Wi-Fi is usually a much less expensive option. Simply connect to a Wi-Fi network and dial the number you wish to reach through the app. Please note that any connectivity charges from Wi-Fi or cellular are not included in our rates, and are your responsibility.

If I am outside the U.S., can I make a local call? Let’s say I want to make call down the street to a local restaurant and make a reservation.

What OS versions and web browsers are supported?

The following mobile operating systems and browsers are officially supported:

  • Android devices running 4.4 (KitKat) and above
  • iOS devices running iOS 8.0 and above
  • Desktop Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer 10+ and above
Do I have to have a Wi-Fi signal?

No, you can use the dialer on your 3G/4G/LTE connection or Wi-Fi. Just remember Wi-Fi doesn’t use up your data plan. For your convenience dialer is set to prefer Wi-Fi when available.

What happens if I start a call on Wi-Fi and then lose my Wi-Fi signal?

Your call will continue on the data network (3G/4G/LTE), however, you will lose your audio connection so you will need to hang up and redial your party.

When I try to make a call using Wi-Fi, why do I just hear a constant beeping sound?

Typically, there is an issue with the Wi-Fi network you are using that is blocking the call. Unless it is a corporate network where you can work with a network administrator or your home network, we suggest you connect to different Wi-Fi network.

I am at a hotel with Wi-Fi service, my phone shows full service on Wi-Fi but I am not able to get service on my dialer. How can I correct this?

Many hotels have private Wi-Fi connections for their customers only. At check-in the hotel will give you an access code for the Wi-Fi network, it might be free or there might be a charge. Follow the hotels instructions on how to access the Wi-Fi network you might even have to access a designated web page to enter the Wi-Fi code. Once you have accessed the Wi-Fi network the dialer will now show “Registered”. Proceed to make calls.

I am getting a Security Warning — “The Certificate for domain helloearth.mobi is not valid or has expired”. Why am I getting this warning?

If you are using an unsecure Wi-Fi Network or a public use network you will get this Security Warning indicating that your connection to the network is not secure. Pressing “Trust” will allow you to proceed to make calls. Just be aware that you are using a public network and your communication may be monitored. If you are conducting business that is of a sensitive nature, you may wish to wait until you have access to a secure network.

Other Features

How do I turn on Push Notifications from within the app?

From the dialer screen, click the gear/settings icon in the upper right of your screen. Click on Incoming Calls and tap Push Notifications.

What sound enhancement options do I have?

From the dialer screen, click the gear/settings icon in the upper right of your screen. Under preferences, select Sound and you will see several options for enhancing your app experience.

Can I record my calls?

Yes! From the dialer screen, click the gear/settings icon in the upper right of your screen. Under preferences, select Call Recording and tap the button to turn it on.

What language options do I have for the app?

The app can be set to either English or Spanish. From the dialer screen, click the gear/settings icon in the upper right of your screen. Under preferences, select Language and tap the preferred language. Please note, you will have to restart the application after for a language change to take effect.
